No output from the speaker.
This procedure assumes all the basic checks have been performed first.
The most common cause of no speaker output is a faulty volume potentiometer caused when the potentiometer knob has been knocked/bumped during transit or installation.
To bypass the potentiometer and test if the remaining circuitry is OK, short the center and right-hand side potentiometer terminals (viewed from ABOVE) and press a "test" switch. If the speaker omits an alarm-tone, the potentiometer is damaged. The knob is glued to the potentiometer shaft and a new knob will also be required.
