Connecting a Tone Ringer to Loud Bell contacts.
This instruction assumes that the Loud Bell contacts are "dry". If they supply a suitable AC or DC voltage/current, there is no need to use a power adaptor as explained below.
![]() |
If the Tone Ringer needs to operate from a DC source instead of AC (as sometimes occurs when using the “alarm contacts” from a PBX or using a DC power adaptor) jumper J2 (also labelled "test" as shown in the diagram opposite must be bridged . If an AC power adaptor or if the PABX supplies an AC voltage the jumper J2 must NOT be bridged. |
Components Required
| Cat# | Description | Quantity |
| T2450 | 24V DC 500mA power pack | Qty 1 |
| K3507 | ACCESS Type-A tone ringer | Qty 1 |
| P8632 | Gel connector (yellow) | Qty 3 |
| 2-wire cable | Qty to suit site |
Installation Procedure
| 1. | Cut off DC output plug from the power pack output leads. |
| 2. | Run the power-pack DC leads to the KSU cabinet. |
| 3. | Run a 2-wire cable within the KSU cabinet from the Loud Bell contacts to the same position as the end of the power-pack output cable. |
| 4. | Terminate the cable onto the Loud Bell contacts. |
| 5. | Run a 2-wire cable from the KSU (so it can be later joined with the power-pack wires and the LB output wires) to the position chosen for the Tone Ringer. |
| 6. | Terminate the cable in the tone ringer on the two "line" screw terminals on P2. |
| 7. | If you are using a DC power adaptor, make sure that link J2 is bridged. The link on J4 does not serve any function in this application and it can be used to bridge J2. Link J2 does not have to be bridged if an AC power adaptor is used. |
| 8. | This step assumes that the white & blue wires have been used in each of the cables. The wire colours used and the polarity of the power-pack output leads have no effect. Join the two white wires together using a Gel connector. Join a blue wire to one of the black power-pack output wires with a Gel connector. Join the remaining blue wire to the remaining black power-pack wire with the third Gel connector. |

| 9. | Plug the power-pack into a 240V outlet, turn on the Type-A tone ringer switch and test the installation. |
